Theme: Digital Transformation: Capitalising on the IT-OT convergence
As digital permeates every aspect of business, companies are now in the race to fully leverage the changes and opportunities of digital technologies. Digital Transformation is leading to an IT/OT convergence. IT-OT convergence is the integration of Information Technology with Operational Technology. IT includes any use of computers, storage, networking devices and other physical devices, infrastructure and processes to create, process, store, secure and exchange all forms of electronic data. OT is traditionally associated with manufacturing and industrial environments and is OT not seen as a networked technology. With the advent of smart technology, sensors and connected systems like wireless sensors and actuator networks are being integrated into the management of industrial environments. This is now leading to a widespread convergence of IT and OT in numerous important industries such as healthcare, transportation, defence, energy, aviation, manufacturing, engineering, mining, oil and gas, natural resources, and utilities.
The session will discuss how IT/OT convergence enables more direct control and more complete monitoring, with easier analysis of data from these complex systems from anywhere in the world. The session will also showcase what Hitachi is doing with it’s core platform LUMADA and how is Lumada relevant for a sustainable and strategic digital transformation journey?
